The Brandon Ellingson Memorial Scholarship.
Brandon Ellingson, who is no longer with us
physically but is always with us in spirit. His humble, respectful, inspiring, loyal, and
caring nature was exemplary in all aspects of his life and he is greatly missed by many,
many family, friends, and even those he did not know. The Brandon Ellingson Memorial
Scholarship (The $3,030.30) was established and each year a member of the Valley varsity
football team will be awarded a one-time college scholarship in honor of Brandon in the
amount of $3,030.30 (Brandon wore the #30 at Valley.) Not only was Brandon an exceptional
football player, he was a dedicated student and graduated from Valley with honors (4.0 GPA.)
The coaches will award the scholarship each year based on the qualities that made
Brandon the outstanding person he was.
Courage League Sports.
Courage League Sports is a non-profit adaptive sports and
recreational facility that offers year-round programming for children and adults
who aren't able to go full speed due to a physical, cognitive or emotional disability.
By adapting the pace, equipment, or nature of an activity, Courage League can provide
a safe and accessible environment where participants can go at their own speed.
Courage League Sports was inspired by Jack who at the age of eight suffered multiple
strokes that forever changed his life. Frustrated at the lack of options for her son,
Melissa Clarke-Wharff opened Courage League Sports where those with special needs
could participate and be active outside of a therapy atmosphere. Today, Courage League
serves nearly 1,000 children and adults on a monthly basis.
